Raymonda Adib: "everything is a walking art form"

Raymonda Adib, the artist
Lebanese, I am a new soul digging my way into this path. I started out at an early age dealing with colors without any idea of what I am doing. After studies in philosophy, psychology and literature I’m now studying fine arts at the Lebanese University, majoring in visual arts.

I am also very interested in ancient languages, human roots and facial characters: Notes on the anatomy and studies of movement, Archaeology (basics information in history to some methods in prospecting, mining, analysis, restoration), philosophy and art history studies painting / drawing / sketching in all materials and many techniques for all kind of styles i.e. Arabic calligraphy, sculpture, ceramics, mosaics, print-making, photography, graphic design,…

During my random period I executed many projects in paintings for books and music i.e. Australien singer Ingrid Oram, and Dutch singer Anneke van Giersbergen’s (album covers, festivals & concerts brochures)...

I believe that everything is “Walking Art form” if we just know where to look.
Until this time I am unable to say where I stand as my eyes and hands are always diving in new concepts!

HOW TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Bras for a Cause was developed as a regional Breast Cancer initiative with the Breast Cancer survivor in mind raising awareness across the Middle East for this cause. We're working very closely with several Breast Cancer organizations in each country to achieve these goals and help as many women as we can in return.

Bras for Breast Cancer survivors will be donated free of charge to women who need them via the organizations we're working closely with. The collection of winning bras and t-shirts as well as well as auctions on exclusive pieces will also raise funds for these organizations as proceeds from the sales will go directly towards funding research, the cost of mammography and other breast cancer patient needs such as providing bras and wigs for women who can't afford them to facilitate the recovery process.

Full proceeds from the Bras for a Cause fashion shows, fundraising events and other activities will be donated to the following organizations in the Middle East making a difference for this important cause:

+ Fairface (Lebanon)
+ BCFE ( Egypt)
+ Brest Friends (UAE)
+ iCansurvive (Egypt)
+ Safe and Sound (UAE)
+ Zahra Breast Cancer Association (KSA
)

Paulo Coelho's Blog: Character of the week: Kandinsky

Published on July 3, 2011 in Character of the Week.

Painting is an art. And art is a power that should be aimed at developing the soul. If art does not do this job, the abyss that separates us from God is left without a bridge. The artist owes his talent to God and has to settle this debt. To do this, he has to work hard, know that he is free in his art but not in his commitment to life. Everything he feels and thinks is part of the raw material with which to improve the spiritual atmosphere around him. Beauty, whether in art or in a woman, cannot be empty; it has to be at the service of humankind and the world. The true work of art is born from the ‘artist’: a mysterious, enigmatic, and mystical creation. It detaches itself from him, it acquires an autonomous life, becomes a personality, an independent subject, animated with a spiritual breath, the living subject of a real existence of being. The artist is not a ‘Sunday child’ for whom everything immediately succeeds. He does not have the right to live without duty. The task that is assigned to him is painful, it is a heavy cross for him to bear. There is no must in art because art is free.
